From Muhrau to Morawa ...
Morawa, Lower Silesia. Behind a door marked "Private" Melitta Sallai lives in a small apartment on the former estate of her parents. But actually, this door is always open and everyone goes through without hesitation. Children’s laughs fulfills the former representative rooms of the castle at Muhrau/Morawa. Born in 1927 as the daughter of the Silesian landowner Hans-Christoph von Wietersheim-Kramsta, shortly before the end of the war Melitta Sallai fled with her family to the west. Through France, Portugal and Angola she finally led her life journey back to her Silesian homeland. Initial skepticism and rejection of the now Polish inhabitants gradually turned into helpfulness and solidarity - united in the foundation "Holy Hedwig". Together, we - college students from Wrocław and Hemmingen - portrayed this unique story. Not always conflict-free, but all the more compelling.
